Esporte Government and Banco do Brasil Unite to Expand Wi-Fi Access in Brazil
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL -The Ministry of Communications has announced that Banco do Brasil branches will be part of a government program to expand Internet access. Some of the institution’s branches will be provided with free Wi-Fi, with the goal of taking wireless connections to the most diverse parts of Brazil.
The initiative is part of the Wi-Fi Brazil Program, which is installing access points in establishments such as healthcare centers, schools or indigenous communities in regions with poorly developed telecommunications infrastructure. The connection is done through Telebrás hotspots and satellites, with 12,800 locations . . .
